Esto dice la ciencia"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Ya sea que lleven varios a\u00f1os cubriendo sus circuitos, tiempos y distancias, o apenas est\u00e9n incursionando en la pr\u00e1ctica del <em>running<\/em>, los entusiastas de este deporte en ocasiones pueden tener dudas sobre sus efectos a largo plazo. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>As\u00ed, es posible que se topen con <strong>advertencias sobre el riesgo de desarrollar osteoartritis<\/strong>, reforzadas por lo que dicen sitios de referencia como <strong>Arthritis Foundation<\/strong> que <a href=\"http:\/\/espanol.arthritis.org\/espanol\/disease-center\/imprimia-un-folleto\/dc-ejercicio-artritis\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (abre en una nueva pesta\u00f1a)\">desaconseja correr a las personas que tienen artritis<\/a> para evitar la sobrecarga de sus articulaciones.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Otros pueden tratar de \u201casustar\u201d a los\ncorredores con el cl\u00e1sico \u201c\u00a1te vas a destrozar las rodillas!\u201d, un argumento que\nalude a lesiones cr\u00f3nicas e irreparables debido al impacto y la carga constante\nsobre la articulaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ante estas creencias, en este art\u00edculo recopilamos las evidencias directas de investigaciones m\u00e9dicas. Adem\u00e1s, te ofrecemos las soluciones que los mejores <a href=\"https:\/\/www.therapycord.mx\/nuestras-terapias\/fisioterapeuta-deportivo-en-ciudad-de-mexico\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (abre en una nueva pesta\u00f1a)\">fisioterapeutas deportivos en M\u00e9xico<\/a> te pueden ofrecer para practicar el <em>running<\/em> con un menor riesgo de lesi\u00f3n.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><em>Running<\/em>, osteoartritis y da\u00f1o en las rodillas<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Existen\nal menos 3 grandes estudios m\u00e9dicos que claramente desmitificaron la relaci\u00f3n\ndirecta entre desarrollar osteoartritis y correr:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1. En 2009, una investigaci\u00f3n concluy\u00f3 que la practica del <em>running<\/em> en sujetos mayores de 50 a\u00f1os previno la aparici\u00f3n de artritis de rodilla. Esto al monitorear durante casi 2 d\u00e9cadas sus radiograf\u00edas, donde se evidenci\u00f3 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/pmc\/articles\/PMC2556152\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (abre en una nueva pesta\u00f1a)\">una prevalencia de 32% a desarrollar osteoartritis en los no corredores<\/a>, comparado con un 20% entre los corredores.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2. En 2011, se publicaron los resultados de un seguimiento a miembros de un club de corredores, compar\u00e1ndolos con no corredores con buena salud. Todos ten\u00edan al menos 50 a\u00f1os al comienzo del estudio en 1984. 21 a\u00f1os despu\u00e9s, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/pmc\/articles\/PMC3175643\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (abre en una nueva pesta\u00f1a)\">no s\u00f3lo hab\u00edan fallecido menos corredores, sino que tambi\u00e9n ten\u00edan menos limitaciones f\u00edsicas<\/a>. En su conclusi\u00f3n, los investigadores apuntaron que &#8220;correr en edades medias y mayores se asocia con discapacidades reducidas y mayores ventajas de supervivencia&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>3. En 2017, un estudio donde participaron m\u00e1s de 2,000 pacientes con historial de dolor de rodilla descubri\u00f3 que, luego de varios a\u00f1os de practicar <em>running<\/em>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/pmc\/articles\/PMC2556152\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (abre en una nueva pesta\u00f1a)\">los corredores reportaban una disminuci\u00f3n de hasta 29% en la frecuencia de sus molestias<\/a> comparados con los no corredores. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>4. En 2018 otra investigaci\u00f3n m\u00e9dica (copatrocinada por la Osteoartrhitis Initiative) convoc\u00f3 a un grupo de 1,203 personas mayores de 50 a\u00f1os con osteoartritis en al menos una rodilla. Al analizar si con el aumento de la pr\u00e1ctica del <em>running<\/em> se detectaba una regresi\u00f3n en sus habilidades f\u00edsicas, los m\u00e9dicos descubrieron que, tras ocho a\u00f1os de seguimiento, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/pmc\/articles\/PMC6095814\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (abre en una nueva pesta\u00f1a)\">en realidad los s\u00edntomas de dolor mejoraron en lugar de empeorar<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Beneficios del <em>running<\/em> a la salud articular<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Si\ncon estos datos a\u00fan no te convences de que correr mejora el dolor de rodilla y\nreduce las posibilidades de sufrir osteoartritis, aqu\u00ed tienes otros 3\nargumentos en favor de esta actividad:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Al fomentar la\np\u00e9rdida de peso, correr reduce la carga sobre huesos y articulaciones.<\/li><li>El\nsobrepeso tambi\u00e9n se asocia con inflamaci\u00f3n cr\u00f3nica de bajo grado en todo el\ncuerpo. As\u00ed, al mantenerte en tu peso ideal evitas que los cart\u00edlagos est\u00e9n\nexpuestos a esta inflamaci\u00f3n.<\/li><li>Al\ncorrer, los cart\u00edlagos de las rodillas se mantienen bien lubricados y se\nvuelven m\u00e1s resistentes a medida que se adaptan a la demanda de funcionamiento.\nEsto retrasa la aparici\u00f3n de los s\u00edntomas de osteoartritis.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Finalmente, cabe se\u00f1alar que <strong>estas evidencias no implican que los corredores sean inmunes a lesiones en la rodilla<\/strong>.
