Y en espec\u00edfico, el s\u00edndrome de la banda iliotibial (ITBS por sus siglas en ingl\u00e9s) es una de las causas m\u00e1s comunes de dolor y rigidez en la rodilla lateral.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>Tambi\u00e9n\nconocido como <strong>\u201crodilla de corredor\u201d<\/strong>, este trastorno puede volverse un\nmal reincidente \u2013por la tensi\u00f3n que genera durante la pr\u00e1ctica deportiva\u2013, y en\ncasos no atendidos el dolor puede persistir incluso en actividades cotidianas\ncomo caminar o subir y bajar escaleras.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En este Blog ya te platicamos sobre <a href=\"https:\/\/sandbox.cliento.mx\/therapycord\/5-lesiones-mas-comunes-de-los-corredores-y-como-prevenirlas\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (abre en una nueva pesta\u00f1a)\">las 5 lesiones m\u00e1s comunes en los corredores y c\u00f3mo prevenirlas<\/a>. Pues en esta ocasi\u00f3n te contamos m\u00e1s acerca del diagn\u00f3stico y la atenci\u00f3n del ITBS, as\u00ed como algunos consejos para evitarlo y las opciones de tratamiento m\u00e1s efectivas que puedes recibir en una <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (abre en una nueva pesta\u00f1a)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.therapycord.mx\/\" target=\"_blank\">cl\u00ednica de rehabilitaci\u00f3n deportiva<\/a> como <strong>TherapyCord<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Rodilla de corredor: caracter\u00edsticas y diagn\u00f3stico<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Como\nsu nombre lo indica, el ITBS tiene que ver con la banda iliotibial (banda IT),\nun <strong>tend\u00f3n que conecta desde la parte superior del hueso p\u00e9lvico<\/strong> (en el\n\u00e1rea exterior de la cadera), se extiende a lo largo del muslo y contin\u00faa hasta justo\ndebajo de la rodilla (espinilla). <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La\nfunci\u00f3n principal de esta gran banda de tejido conectivo es <strong>estabilizar la\nrodilla y permitir su rotaci\u00f3n interior<\/strong>, as\u00ed como apoyar con la abducci\u00f3n\nde la cadera (flexi\u00f3n con amplitud m\u00e1xima de 30\u00ba). <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>El\nITBS se presenta cuando la banda IT resulta inflamada o irritada por anomal\u00edas\nbiomec\u00e1nicas, mismas que generan el <strong>roce contra el hueso en la parte externa\nde la cadera o rodilla<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"683\" height=\"1024\" src=\"https:\/\/sandbox.cliento.mx\/therapycord\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/TherapyCord-banda-iliotibial-683x1024.jpg\" alt=\"S\u00edndrome de la banda iliotibial\" class=\"wp-image-1226\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sandbox.cliento.mx\/therapycord\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/TherapyCord-banda-iliotibial-683x1024.jpg 683w, https:\/\/sandbox.cliento.mx\/therapycord\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/TherapyCord-banda-iliotibial-200x300.jpg 200w, https:\/\/sandbox.cliento.mx\/therapycord\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/TherapyCord-banda-iliotibial-768x1152.jpg 768w, https:\/\/sandbox.cliento.mx\/therapycord\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/TherapyCord-banda-iliotibial.jpg 800w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 683px) 100vw, 683px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Esto\na menudo se combina con el sobreentrenamiento, aunque puede desarrollarse a\u00fan con\nniveles bajos de ejercicio. <strong>Afecta en mayor medida a corredores (en un rango\nde entre 7 y 14% del total)<\/strong>, pero se asocia tambi\u00e9n con actividades como el\nciclismo, hockey, nataci\u00f3n, remo y basquetbol.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Otros\nfactores que pueden generar esta dolencia en corredores son:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong><em>Genus varum<\/em><\/strong>. Personas con piernas arqueadas, lo que\nal correr produce trabajo excesivo sobre la banda IT.<\/li><li><strong>Mayor presi\u00f3n lateral en la rodilla por la pisada<\/strong>. Tanto la sobrepronaci\u00f3n\ncomo la supinaci\u00f3n producen desalineaciones de la biomec\u00e1nica.<\/li><li><strong>Inclinaciones del terreno<\/strong>. Circuitos cambiantes o cuesta abajo\nson los m\u00e1s riesgosos.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><em>&lt;&lt; <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (abre en una nueva pesta\u00f1a)\" href=\"https:\/\/sandbox.cliento.mx\/therapycord\/corredor-revisa-tu-pisada-evita-lesiones\" target=\"_blank\">Corredor: revisa tu pisada para evitar lesiones<\/a> &gt;&gt;<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Usualmente,\nel ITBS se puede diagnosticar con un <strong>examen f\u00edsico y la descripci\u00f3n de los\ns\u00edntomas<\/strong>. El m\u00e9dico, con el paciente de pie o haciendo sentadilla, detectar\u00e1\nhinchaz\u00f3n y sensiblidad en la rodilla, y con el paciente acostado en posici\u00f3n\nlateral, mover\u00e1 las piernas en distintas posiciones para revisar si la banda IT\nest\u00e1 tensa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Recomendaciones y terapia<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Adem\u00e1s del uso de analg\u00e9sicos simples (de preferencia, con receta m\u00e9dica) y aplicaci\u00f3n de hielo, como primera medida hacia la recuperaci\u00f3n del ITBS se sugiere a los <em>runners<\/em> evitar todos los ejercicios que les provoquen dolor durante al menos seis semanas, hasta que pasen las molestias. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Y\nuna vez listos para retomar la actividad, los corredores pueden modificar su forma\nde entrenamiento para evitar agravar su condici\u00f3n, por ejemplo:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Correr distancias m\u00e1s\ncortas, alternar la direcci\u00f3n en las pistas del circuito y evitar correr en\nsuperficies duras o cuesta abajo.<\/li><li>Practicar en intervalos de mayor velocidad, ya que los\n\u00e1ngulos de flexi\u00f3n de la rodilla son diferentes durante la ejecuci\u00f3n r\u00e1pida, lo\nque reduce la fricci\u00f3n de la banda IT.<\/li><li>Reemplazar las zapatillas da\u00f1adas, mal ajustadas o viejas.<\/li><li>Utilizar plantillas ortop\u00e9dicas para mejorar la pisada.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Se recomienda tambi\u00e9n que estas mejoras de entrenamiento las realices con la asesor\u00eda de fisioterapeutas, a fin de recibir un tratamiento que atienda las causas de la lesi\u00f3n.
